Vale takeover still not done

Keith Ryder is still waiting on the Football League to ratify his takeover at Port Vale as they seek more information on his plans.

Ryder met the Thursday deadline to submit the relevant paperwork for his Fit and Proper Persons test but the Football League board, who have been meeting in Portugal this week, are seeking more information on the 43-year-old management consultant's £1.3million bid for the club.

Football League approval is still likely but it is another frustration for Ryder, whose bid was approved by the club's creditors last month.
It is also added frustration for manager Micky Adams, who is unable to sign new players while Vale remain in administration.

A Football League spokesman confirmed: "The board received an update on the situation at Port Vale.
"They have requested that the administrator and potential new owner provide further information on their plans."
